Mark Leon

Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Mark Leon leads The Chicago Lighthouse’s financial and IT strategy and operations.  In his role, Mark helps to ensure that The Chicago Lighthouse maximizes its mission impact of creating a future of independence with dignity for the blind, visually impaired, disabled and Veteran communities while preserving and enhancing the organization’s reputation as a leader in financial transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Prior to joining The Lighthouse, Mark served as CFO for a variety of high-impact, mission driven organizations including professional associations with an advocacy focus, community development financial institutions (CDFIs), and charter schools. Prior to his CFO leadership roles, Mark worked as a management consultant where he led teams who worked with Fortune 1000 companies and public sector clients on strategic and financial planning, process improvement,  technology system implementation, and IT strategy initiatives.

Mark has a BS in economics from Georgetown University and an MBA in statistics and econometrics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.  Mark is also a CPA.  He lives in Oak Park with his family and can usually be found cheering his daughter on the sidelines of her lacrosse games on any given weekend afternoon.
